"GO FISH" A work in progress . This will show steps in producing an osprey "fish hawk".
I have started carving an osprey landing with fish in one talon and wings in v shape. It will be 1/3 size. I am just getting started on wings but doing research on feathering. This is carved out of basswood. Will carve feather detail then burn feathers with wood burning pen. Then add glass eyes. I will also paint with acrylics and then mount to a stable base.
Product details This shows beginning stages after head is carved. To the stage of setting up bird for detail and adding wings. Then moving bird to a mount. Then painting I've worked on this piece on and off since October.

Progress Report As of 01-15-2010 I have finished painting and have attached fish to Osprey onto the base.
